Varicose Veins Treatment Options

Do you wear long pants or skirts year-round to hide your varicose veins? Your Houston and Humble, TX, cardiovascular specialist, Dr. Madaiah Revana of Northeast Houston Vein Center, offers minimally invasive treatments that improve the appearance of varicose veins and ease your uncomfortable symptoms.

ClosureFast

ClosureFast closes varicose veins using radiofrequency energy. Once the vein is closed, blood is rerouted through healthy blood vessels. During the procedure, your cardiovascular specialist inserts a catheter into the vein. The catheter delivers radiofrequency energy that heats the walls of the vein. The vein shrinks and seals itself, preventing blood from flowing through it. ClosureFast is effective for both varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency.

VenaSeal

VenaSeal also closes varicose veins but uses medical adhesive inserted through a catheter rather than radiofrequency energy. Manual pressure helps seal the vein and stop blood flow through it. After a few weeks, the closed vein is reabsorbed by your body.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Are your legs covered with ropy, bulging varicose veins? Ambulatory phlebectomy may offer the ideal solution for you. During this minimally invasive outpatient procedure, veins are removed through the skin. In addition to improving the appearance of your legs, the procedure may immediately resolve pain, burning, throbbing, and other varicose vein symptoms.

Varithena

Varithena, another effective varicose vein treatment, closes veins with microfoam. This procedure can be helpful if you have issues with your Greater Saphenous Vein. When the foam fills the vein, blood can no longer enter, causing the vein to collapse and eventually disappear from view.

Asclera

Asclera, a sclerotherapy treatment, targets varicose veins and spider veins. The Asclera solution includes a local anesthetic to ensure that you won't feel any pain or discomfort during the treatment. In just about a month, you'll no longer be able to see the varicose or spider vein.

VeinGogh

VeinGogh is another option if you have spider veins. A hair-thin probe delivers microbursts of energy that heats and closes the veins. The treatment doesn't affect the outer layers of your skin and can be combined with sclerotherapy.
